Kathy Fraser

I grew up on the east coast and fled west as soon as possible. I like art, music, being outside, riding bikes, reading books, making stuff, story-telling, and finding stuff out; this job allows me to do it all.  I got involved with SCCS by volunteering as an aide and as a play-group parent. I took a full-time position in 2003 and love the opportunity to apply some of the training I've had in Waldorf teaching in this beautiful setting. I love the independence we have to deliver a curriculum relevant to the students, the support of the community and the teamwork of diverse families and teachers.

I have been teaching at Salmon Creek for five years. I enjoy living up in the hills, and teaching at a school that respects my independence, as well as that of my students.

I have a degree in Geography and Journalism from Humboldt State University, a Multiple Subject teaching credential and a Masters in Education.
